With the weather getting colder, Aquatera’s winter hours will be coming into effect and curbside yard waste collection services will soon be over.

Winter Facility Hours

Effective November 1, winter hours for the Aquatera Landfill will be Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturday and holidays 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The landfill will be closed all Sundays until summer hours resume again in April. The facility is located south of Grande Prairie off of Township Road 668, half way between Resources Road and Highway 40.

Winter hours for the Eco Centre are Monday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed Sundays and holidays. Aquatera’s Eco Centre is located at 10431-96 Avenue in Grande Prairie.

Curbside Yard Waste & Pumpkin Collection

The final day for residential yard waste collection is Friday, November 11. Residents are asked to gather the last of any grass, leaves and pumpkins into clear plastic bags weighing no more than 20lb, or about the weight of a bag of flour.

Branches can be put into small bundles and placed curbside one metre away from your garbage cart. Pumpkins will be collected curbside until November 11. Residents are asked to place them next to recycling and or in their yard waste bags for collection. 

Yard waste will still be accepted at the Landfill facility during regular business hours.
