Curbside Yard Waste Collection and Aquatera Summer Hours

GRANDE PRAIRIE – Aquatera is ready to assist residents with their spring clean-up and yard maintenance. Both curbside yard waste collection and our extended summer hours will commence April 1.

Residents are reminded that yard waste must be placed at least one metre from carts, in transparent bags weighing less than 20 kilograms and are asked to bundle branches and place next to their bags. The maximum branch length is one metre and maximum width is 1/2 metre.

“Residents can expect their yard waste to be collected anytime between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. and it could change from week to week,” says Chelsea Lewis, Communications Manager.

Extended Summer Hours Begin

Extended hours for Aquatera’s Eco Centre and Waste Management Facility (Landfill) will provide customers with more time to drop off recycling and garbage during the summer.

The Eco Centre will now be open Monday to Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The facility is closed on Sundays and statutory holidays.

Aquatera’s Eco Centre is located at 10431-96 Avenue in Grande Prairie.

Aquatera’s Waste Management Facility will be open seven days a week, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (including statutory holidays) until November 1, when winter hours begin again.

This facility is located south of Grande Prairie off of Township Road 668, half way between Resources Road and Highway 40.

Aquatera asks that customers ensure that all loads are covered with a tarp or are properly secured to avoid unnecessary littering. Cargo nets can be purchased at the facility’s scale house.
